The results of Transformation Challenge #6 were celebrated on Wednesday, May 26th at Bud's Pub & Grill in Dixon.

Slightly different than previous Challenges, the practical phase of TC6 was reduced to eight weeks - down from the previous duration of ten weeks.

"We had such good results in the last Team Challenge [6 weeks]", said Jim Hall, that we wanted to see what result we'd get from shortening the individual challenge program."

According to Jim and Brandy Hall, owners of Anytime Fitness - Dixon and Anytime Fitness - Natomas and originators of the Transformation Challenge program, participants came out of the 6-week Team Challenge held last fall more vitalized and motivated to continue on their own.

In contrast, the longer version of the individual program sometimes resulted in a burnout effect and participants appeared less motivated to continue working out and eating well on their own.

"Part of the solution for the participants to be successful outside of a formalized program like the Challenge, is to give people workout and nutrition tools while in a program, and to help them find really good reasons to continue after the Challenge is complete," said Brandy Hall.

"These programs are intended to be an introduction to participants on how to exercise and eat in a way that supports a long-term strategy for health and fitness, well beyond the Challenge end date. So we shortened the program slightly so that people are more likely to want to continue since it's really starting to click for the fourth or fifth week." adds Brandy.

Also reported was that the Grand Champion, Jill Davis had initially decided not to turn in her photographs at the end because she felt she had not progressed as much as she would have liked.

"I had to talk her into turning in her final materials," said, Rick Warren, personal trainer and Jill's team coach for the Challenge.

Jill's final decision ended up being the right one. She was judged by the Challenge panel to have had the most visibly apparent and meaningful transformation during the Challenge program.

Other winners included Katie Smaystrla-Jones / Green Team Champion, Liz Touhey / Orange Team Champion, and Melissa Woolf-Bewley / Purple Team Champion.

The Green Team captured the team portion of the Challenge program by scoring the most points accumulated by fat-loss measurements taken throughout the Challenge.

About the Transformation Challenge:

The Transformation Challenge program was started by Jim and Brandy Hall as a fun way to involve participants interested in improving their physical bodies, thus their overall lives.

Every participant is assigned to a team, and each team has a coach. The participants, at a minimum, hold weekly sessions with their coach, who helps to guide the team members toward their individual goals.

Team accountability, coach leadership, workout and nutrition tools, and a defined timeframe are all keys to the success of the program.

To successfully finish the program, participants are required to turn in materials at the end of the program in the form of "before" & "after" photos, along with written answers to a list of pre-established questions.

Winners are those who exceed others at capturing their aesthetic changes through photos and describing their inner changes on paper.
